Send catalogues and product photos

A shop, a manufacturer or a distribution business sends much the same things every month, to different people: the season catalogue to the agency running the campaign, the product photo set to the marketplace, the print-ready file to the printer, the spec sheet to the trade customer who wants the specification before ordering, and the price list to distributors.

Every one of those packages is too big for an attachment and too one-off for a shared drive with access rights. Transferify is the pipe between them: one package, one link, one download with no account. The product catalogue, the prices and the stock stay in the system you already run them in.

One package per channel, not one for everyone

The same collection looks different to each recipient. The agency wants the campaign images and the source files, the marketplace wants the photographs at its own format, the printer wants the print-ready file, and the distributor wants the catalogue PDF and the price list.

  1. Separate the raw shots from the retouched selection and from the resized variants per channel.
  2. Put only what is approved for that recipient in a package, not the whole collection directory.
  3. Name the archive after the collection, the channel and the date, so a new version is never confused with a withdrawn one.
  4. Add an index file listing the product codes the set covers.
  5. Send a separate link to each channel, so you can withdraw one without breaking the others.

When a whole directory has to travel, with subfolders per category, the guide on how to send large files covers what happens to structure and file names on the way.

Files for print leave exactly as you made them

A print-ready PDF with bleed, crop marks and an embedded colour profile does not survive recompression, and a banner TIFF survives it even less. Files pass through a transfer untouched: we do not recompress them, do not generate variants and do not build previews out of their contents.

Hosted files are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before upload and stay encrypted in storage. For a season catalogue that has not launched yet, Zero-Knowledge mode on the Premium plan keeps the contents unreadable to us, on the condition you accept along with it: the key sits only in the link you share, so a lost link means files nobody can recover.

What each plan covers

On the free plan the number of transfers is not capped, but deliveries that are still live share one storage allowance, and the size allowance is per transfer rather than a monthly budget. You get 50 downloads in a calendar month and links that stay open for 1 to 2 days, which covers a one-off delivery rather than a whole campaign season.

Editing a transfer after sending, and extending its expiry, start on the Plus plan, which helps when a price list changes after the link has gone out. The current limits and prices are on the pricing page, and the two delivery modes are set out on the features page.

Price lists for distributors only

A trade price list does not have the same standing as a set of publishable photographs. From the Basic plan you can ask for a password on download, cap how many times that transfer is downloaded, and get an email alert. The alert confirms whether and when it was downloaded, never who downloaded it, so ask the distributor separately for a commercial confirmation.

How long the link stays open is chosen on each delivery: 1 to 2 days on the free plan, up to 7 days on Basic, up to 30 days on Plus, and on Premium up to 30 days or never. For a price list with a limited validity, an end date is the right answer anyway.

For very large material handed to an agency while you are both at your desks, instant peer-to-peer transfer puts no limit on size, as long as both browsers stay connected until the end.

Seasons that come round again

A shop has the same moments every year: the spring collection, the holiday catalogue, the sale campaign. File requests are available on every plan, the free one included, so you can ask the agency for the layouts or the manufacturer for the files yourself, instead of waiting for somebody to remember to send them.

When the packages are drawings, quotes and site photos rather than catalogues, the page for drawings, quotes and site photos covers that workflow, and the mechanics of a hosted link are on the hosted transfers page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I send a complete product photo set to a marketplace?

Group the images into one transfer, by category or by collection, and send a link. The marketplace operator opens it in a browser and downloads the whole set without creating an account with us.

Do print-ready files reach the printer unchanged?

Yes. We do not recompress them, do not generate variants and do not touch the contents, so a PDF with bleed, crop marks and an embedded colour profile comes out of the transfer exactly as you uploaded it.

Does a distributor need an account to download the catalogue?

No. They get a link, open it in a browser and download. There is nothing to register for and nothing to install, and only you as the sender confirm an email address with a one-time code.

How many distributors can go on one delivery?

The free plan takes 10 recipients on a transfer, Basic 20, Plus 50 and Premium 200. On the Premium plan you also see, per transfer, whether the notification emails reached the mail provider or failed.

What does the free plan cover for a product catalogue?

Transfers are not capped in number, but catalogues that are still live share one storage allowance. Free includes 50 downloads in a calendar month, and a delivery link stays open for 1 to 2 days.
