Files are encrypted in transit and at rest - we hold the key, wrapped in AWS KMS, so a lost link is still recoverable. Every transfer is encrypted. Peer-to-peer files are end-to-end encrypted and stream directly between browsers, so they never touch our servers. Hosted files are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM and stored encrypted at rest. Turn on Zero-Knowledge mode and the encryption key never reaches us - private even from Transferify.

How do I send large files for free?
Open Transferify, drop in your files, and confirm your email with a one-time code - there is no password to choose and nothing to install. Instant peer-to-peer transfers have no size limit, and hosted links are free to start too.
Is Transferify encrypted?
Yes. Peer-to-peer transfers are end-to-end encrypted and stream directly between browsers. Hosted files are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before upload and stored encrypted at rest.
Do recipients need an account to download?
No. Anyone with the link can download - nothing to sign up for, nothing to install. Recipients just open the link in their browser. Only the sender confirms an email.
What is the maximum file size?
Instant peer-to-peer transfers have no size limit - the file streams straight from your device to the recipient's. Hosted links allow up to 50 GB on Basic, 100 GB on Plus, and 1 TB uploads on Premium; on Free the allowance is per transfer rather than a monthly budget, and there is no cap on how many you send.
How long do transfer links last?
Hosted links expire after up to 2 days on Free, 7 days on Basic, 30 days on Plus, and 30 days or never on Premium. Peer-to-peer links stay live only while your browser tab is open.
Is Transferify really private and zero-knowledge?
Peer-to-peer files never touch our servers. Hosted files are encrypted on your device; on the free plan we hold the key wrapped in AWS KMS so links stay recoverable, and with Zero-Knowledge mode (paid) the key never reaches us, so we cannot read your files.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Transferify runs entirely in your browser - there is nothing to download or install, for you or the person receiving the files.
What is the difference between instant and hosted transfers?
Instant transfers stream the file directly to the recipient while you are both online, with no upload wait and no size cap. Hosted transfers upload the file first, so the link keeps working after you close your tab and the recipient can download later.
Can I put my own logo and colours on the download page?
Yes. On Free and Basic you buy it for a single transfer; from Plus it's included, so any one delivery can carry your logo and colours. Premium adds it account-wide: set a logo and an accent colour in Personalization once and they appear on the download page and delivery emails of every transfer you send from then on - transfers you already sent keep the look they were sent with. Plus also removes Transferify's own branding from those pages.
Can my transfer links use my own address?
Yes, on Premium. Claim a name and the links you send from then on live on it - yourname.transferify.cloud and yourname.transferify.ro, on both of our sites. There are no DNS records to publish and nothing to wait for, and links you already shared keep the address they were sent with.
Can I control who downloads, and how many times?
Yes. From Basic you can lock a transfer with a password, cap how many times it may be downloaded, and get an email the moment someone downloads it. Every plan lets you set an expiry date and delete or revoke a transfer at any time.
